The first quarter of 2021 has been an eventful period for sandbox games in the United Kingdom. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into the performance of the top 5 sandbox games across the unified platform of iOS and Android. Let's delve into the numbers and trends of these creative gaming powerhouses.

Roblox by Roblox Corporation showed remarkable figures, with revenues starting at approximately $1.2M in the last week of December and seeing a peak at around $1.3M in mid-January. Downloads had a high of over 120K in the same period and tapered to about 78K by the end of March. The weekly active users (WAU) exhibited a steady increase from 2.5M to over 3M.

Minecraft from Mojang also displayed strong performance, with revenues beginning at around $267K in late December, peaking at approximately $294K in early February before settling at about $245K by March end. Download numbers saw an initial high of 42K but dipped to around 12K towards the quarter's close. The WAU showed growth, starting at roughly 1.1M and reaching over 1.6M.

Wildlife Inc's Block Craft 3D: Building Games presented modest revenue, starting at nearly $3K and peaking at about $4.5K mid-February, with a slight decline to around $2.4K by the end of March. Downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 21K to 16K. The WAU had a slight fluctuation but generally hovered around 170K to 190K.

Lastly, Electronic Arts' The Sims™ FreePlay showed revenues that started at about $98K, peaking at $100K in early February, followed by a decline to approximately $76K. Downloads saw a jump from 18K to 23K in early February, but later decreased to around 16K. The WAU reflected an upward trend from 93K to over 106K before a slight drop to 94K.
